Creamy mushroom sauce + buttery mash + crispy fries = comfort on a plate ❤️


🥩 Chicken Steak

Ingredients

Chicken breast fillets – 2 pieces (≈450 g total)

Olive oil – 1 tbsp (15 ml)

Lemon juice – 1 tbsp (15 ml)

Salt – ½ tsp (3 g)

Black pepper – ¾ tsp (2 g)

Garlic powder – ¾ tsp (2 g)

Onion powder – ½ tsp (1.5 g)

Smoked paprika – ½ tsp (1.5 g)

Optional: dried thyme – ¼ tsp (0.5 g)


Method

1️⃣ Brush chicken with olive oil, mix all seasonings + lemon juice, coat evenly.

2️⃣ Rest 20 minutes.

3️⃣ Pan-sear on medium-high 4–5 mins per side until golden.

4️⃣ Rest 3 mins before slicing.


🍄 Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

Butter – 2 tbsp (30 g)

Garlic (finely minced) – 1 tsp (5 g)

Mushrooms (sliced) – 1½ cups (140–160 g)

Chicken stock / broth – ½ cup (120 ml)

Heavy cream / double cream – ½ cup (120 ml)

Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp (15 ml)

Dijon mustard – ½ tsp (3 g)

Salt – ¼ tsp (1.5 g) or to taste

Black pepper – ½ tsp (2 g)

Optional: dried parsley – ¼ tsp (0.5 g)


Method

1️⃣ Melt butter → sauté mushrooms 6–8 mins until brown.

2️⃣ Add garlic → cook 30 seconds.

3️⃣ Add stock + Worcestershire + Dijon → simmer 1 min.

4️⃣ Pour in cream → add salt + pepper → simmer 2–3 mins until creamy.


🥔 Classic Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

Potatoes (Russet / Maris Piper) – 2 large (≈700 g peeled)

Salt (for boiling) – 1½ tsp (9 g)

Butter – 3 tbsp (45 g)

Warm milk – ⅓ cup (80 ml)

Black pepper – ¼ tsp (1 g)

Optional: cream cheese – 2 tbsp (30 g) (extra creamy)


Method

1️⃣ Peel & cut potatoes → boil in salted water 15–18 mins until very soft.

2️⃣ Drain → let steam 1 min.

3️⃣ Mash with butter + warm milk + pepper until smooth.

4️⃣ Taste → adjust salt.


🍟 Crispy Fries (Oven/Air Fryer)

Ingredients

Potatoes – 2 medium (≈500 g)

Cornstarch / cornflour – 1 tbsp (8 g)

Olive oil – 2 tbsp (30 ml)

Salt – ½ tsp (3 g)

Black pepper – ¼ tsp (1 g)

Optional: paprika – ¼ tsp (1 g)


Method

1️⃣ Cut fries → soak in cold water 20 mins → drain & pat dry.

2️⃣ Toss with cornstarch → then oil + seasoning.

3️⃣ Bake: 220°C / 425°F 25–30 mins (flip once)

or

Air fry: 200°C / 390°F 15–18 mins
