Ingredients:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for depth)
2 cups egg noodles (for serving)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the Noodles:
Prepare egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Sauté Vegetables:
In the same pan, melt butter. Add onions and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add mushrooms and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Make the Sauce:
Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.
Add Creaminess:
Stir in sour cream, heavy cream, paprika, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
Combine Everything:
Return chicken to the skillet and mix well. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until heated through.
Serve:
Serve over egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
